WHO Fails To Make A Decision On China Coronavirus Emergency

An emergency committee of the World Health Organization (WHO) met today to discuss 2019-nCoV Wuhan coronavirus.  And the committee was deadlocked on where or not to declare a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC), a designation that can affect travel and the movement of goods.

What happened?

Well everyone is scared of upsetting China, including the WHO.  So this is the nonsense that emerged today from the WHO meeting: a statement from WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus…

I was very impressed by the detail and depth of China’s presentation.

I also appreciate the cooperation of China’s Minister of Health, who I have spoken with directly during the last few days and weeks. His leadership and the intervention of President Xi and Premier Li have been invaluable, and all the measures they have taken to respond to the outbreak.

There was an excellent discussion during the committee today, but it was also clear that to proceed, we need more information.

For that reason, I have decided to ask the Emergency Committee to meet again tomorrow to continue their discussion, and the Chair, Dr Houssin, has agreed with that request.

The decision about whether or not to declare a public health emergency of international concern is one I take extremely seriously, and one I am only prepared to make with appropriate consideration of all the evidence.

Our team in China working with local experts and officials to investigate the outbreak.

We will have much more to say tomorrow.

Its is quite clear these idiots can’t make a decision.  In fact their first and only situation report, which was released a few hours ago is either inaccurate or outdated.  And in order to fight  — epidemiologists and health care workers need to have accurate information, intelligence and surveillance.  Inaccurate information doesn’t help them in.

The WHO situation report (WHO sitrep) lists the total confirmed cases as 282 — and 6 deaths in the city of Wuhan.  And yet Xinhua News Agency which is the mouthpiece of the CCP is reporting 444 confirmed cases and 17 deaths just in Hubei Province which is a mortality rate of 3.8%.

In 2020, with the advent of mobile phones and the internet, accurate information is literally at your finger tips.  If China’s health minister doesn’t have accurate information for the WHO, then we are truly fucked.

The WHO Needs To Get Its Sh*t Together

I see two problems that the WHO has:

The first problem is you piss of President Xi and make the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) look like idiots, they won’t cooperate with the rest of the world now — or in the future.  And it seems that every nasty virus originates in China: SARS, H5N1 Avian flu, H7N9 Avian flu. So if the WHO (which is part of the United Nations) doesn’t play ball with China – the world might not have information in the future to prevent a nightmare.  Not to say that we aren’t at the beginning of a nightmare now…

The second problem is that the Secretary General of the WHO: Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is a turd in the punch bowl.  He is not a medical doctor.  He has a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Community Health (And here I thought community health was a science — not a humanity).

The UN voted him in by secret ballot after some serious campaigning.  His promise to the countries that voted for him?  Global universal health care which of course means more opportunities for corruption — and wealth transfers from the developed world to shithole countries.

The Secretary-General also has a history of covering up and downplaying epidemics in his own country of Ethiopia.  So it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume he would downplay this emergency “if the price was right”.

He also faced criticism in 2017 when he announced:

that he had chosen President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe to serve as a WHO Goodwill Ambassador to help tackle non-communicable diseases for Africa.

While a UN/WHO Goodwill Ambassador is only paid a token $1 salary.  That designation allows the ambassador to claim travel expenses — and that is where much of the corruption in the WHO is — in the travel arrangements.  There appears to be a lot of skimming going on.  Skimming that would make even the Mafia proud.

Overpaid underachievers their inability to track, gather and distribute information during this pandemic is either malicious or incompetent.

For Tedros, I would lead towards “self-interest”. Someone is paying him off. As far as the Canadians, etc. that are in the WHO? There is some sort of “white guilt” they are harboring. They are apologists… So they are tripping over themselves to appear non-xenophobic.
